And if so, why?

With the immigration bill fiasco looming (does he understand what he would be signing?) one has to wonder, does anyone support Bush?

Democrats already loathe the man.  Conservatives have no use for him and his incompotence.

So I'm genuinely curious, is anyone here actually approve of the job Bush is currently doing and if so, why?

I still stand behind Bush regarding the war. I do believe he has a better understanding of what we are going up against then our lame congress. Honestly I blame Congress for the condition we are in for the war.

This immigration bill and his seeming to bend towards the global warming crowd seems he is tired of standing up and becoming a lame duck. If this immigration bill gets through it will be a major blemish on his tenure. He should remember Presidential eras are remembered more than Congress'.

I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt on so many decisions but every time he opens his mouth I’m embarrassed to the point that I can hardly listen. Being able to communicate effectively is such a key quality in a leader and he’s definitely the worst ever at it.

I mean I’ve heard speakers fumble words, but they’ll stop and correct themselves. Bush just keeps right on going; he gives the impression that he doesn’t fully understand the words coming out of his own mouth. I seriously think he has to be told later meaning of his bushism’s and that some of the words he used don’t even exist.

I think Carter was right; his presidency will go down in history as the worst ever.

The idea of hating him, is ridiculous. Why waste the effort? (People will be people I guess...)

I admire some of his qualities, however I disagree with him on a variety of his policies/politics. So, do i approve of him? Well, the answer would depend on the specific subject. (i.e. health care, iraq, etc...) Overall, I think he's doing better than congress in some ways.

Should I slit my throat now or later?

Yay for ritual suicide! I'll slit yours if you slit mine . . .
on Jun 01, 2007
Ooh! Has there ever been a multiple suicide pact on JoeUser? I've read about them, but I've never been involved in one before! How exciting! I don't know about throat slitting, though. I always thought the appropriate way for discussion board posters to go would be by repeatedly banging our head against a brick wall until we suffered brain damage...

Dear god, it lives!

Should I slit my throat now or later?

Neither now nor later preferably.

Obviously that has already happened in a few instances!

Where did all the hateful people on this site

That proves that there was no hate toward this foolish man in the first place. It was his foolishness and stupidity that was being criticized. and since now the "base" woke up, very late unfortunately, there is no need to gloat. it is just sad that it took 6 years for you guys to realize how foolish this man is.

Oh, I had hatred. it has decreased in intensity the more everyone else has turned against Bush, though. I hate thinking that everyone is just blaming him for Katrina, I don't like seeing him hobbled and forced to apologize for things. Maybe I just hated the fact that he was winning, or as I would say, "getting away with it."

This is where I think many liberals are wrong, think. I think Bush isn't as foolish or incompetent as you would believe. I think he's very deliberate, very calculated. Why do I think this? Because Bush has figured out the mystery that has eluded ALL of the wanna be dictators before him: how to slowly erode our Constitution while the masses applaud. We have started down the road where it is virtually guaranteed that within a decade you will be able to be arrested and detained for failing to provide your papers to government officials on demand, and where nothing but government doublespeak is acceptable. We're not very far from that point now.

Do you really think Bush is the one who has figured this out? My money's on someone else, behind the scenes. Because he really is an idiot. That Dicky Boy Cheney, though . . .

sometimes there just isn't anything you can do about a problem

So true.

how many times has superman rushed in to help someone KNOWING it was a trap

The problem is Bush is really only helping himself and his buddies. Those he rushes in to help are not really being helped. And I don't know about you but I would never compare Bush to Superman, that is just plain insulting to Superman. .

After you've read a couple of dozen comments by SP, (aka Lucas-the-thing-that-will-not-die) you'll prefer the letting of blood, if not his, your own.

But when you come face to face with the resident troll (Col gene for those hwo don't know) you tend to find yourself hitting a brick wall eve when you don't want to. The only other person on this planet more stubborn than Bush or Carter is Col gene. Now that is what I call an Axis of Evil
