The hate if flowing...
Published on September 11, 2004 By Draginol In Politics

Sometimes I ask, rhetorically, what is the right-wing equivalent to Democratic Underground? The far left of the US population seems to be foaming in angst and hatred that I find quite disturbing.

I surf the web a great deal and there are no right wing sites of anywhere near the scale of DU that top this sort of thing in virtriol and hatred.

I'm going to have to call you on this assertion, Brad.

How about Fred Phelps' page? (the "minister" who protested Matthew Sheppard's funeral?) Or, for that matter, the Aryan Nations.

But you're right, basically. You have to go THAT FAR to the right to equal that filth.

Since tomorrow is the anniversary of the "excuse" the cowboy uses to attack anybody he wants to. I'm bracing myself for the ongoing images of people in small red state towns exploiting the victims of 9/11.
CNN is already showing people in small town Texas CRYING over New York City's loses. Well, you know what. You never liked New Yorkers. You hated New Yorkers remember. If you really cared about the victims of 9/11 you would vote for John Kerry because that's the only thing they want you to do.

I'm glad I'm not one of far left. Sure, my party's mascot is a donkey but that is just full with hate and mongering. Most of policial test show that I'm either in left but close to cenerlist or centerist.
Financially Boycott those who oppose us. They have decided to destroy us and we MUST do the same. I have no objection to denying Right Wingers the right to make a living.

ACK! Jezz that's taking things way too far! Found at someone's sig, faded and hidden, sublumic message?

Just wanted to toss out this link to show the far right is just as bad. It's in .pdf so I can't copy/paste. I will create a separate article on this as well.

Yeah. Both sides does have extremes.
on Sep 11, 2004
One wonders why you would link such stuff. It wouldn't be because you like to portray the left's case with the words of a particularly angry, inarticulate, and none-too-bright spokesperson, by any chance?

Gideon, please re-READ what I wrote. I'll quote the key part:

"there are no right wing sites of anywhere near the scale of DU that top this sort of thing in virtriol"

I didn't claim that no hatefilled right wing sites exist.  I claimed there are no right wing sites at the scale of DU.  DU is about as popular as WinCustomize.com and that sites gets 3 million visitors per month.

We're not talknig a handful of crackpots but rather a pretty significant number of people.  The right wing sites you have are so obscure they don't even show up in the top 100,000 on Alexa.

Plus, don't forget the times matter. The incumbent always faces more outrage and anger than the relatively unknown challenger. I'd put the Right wing "hate" for Clinton up against the Left's "hate" for Bush any day.

on Sep 11, 2004
OK, draginol, I was unaware that site received so much traffic. I assumed you were talking about the level of extremism alone.
on Sep 11, 2004
I have to correct the description of that as a right wing group, that is an extremist group. They don't support Bush and in fact, have protested him. It;s easy to confuse these people with seething leftists and infact, that happens quite regularly because some of thier protests are along the same lines. They were at Reagans funeral protesting because Reagan wasnt far right enough. So in all fairness they are not mainstream at all, in fact they are not even right wing as far as I am concerned, they are extremists.

I didn't EVER say they were mainstream, but they are DEFINITELY far right extremists. And frankly, the group draginol's pointing out is far LEFT extremists. In fact, the fact that they are so far left and STILL endorse Kerry should duly concern every centrist out there.
on Sep 11, 2004
Yes, but they are so far out of the mainstream that they support no choice for president, DUers support John Kerry and that is the distinction.
on Sep 11, 2004
actually, I think they might support Michael Peroutka. i could be wrong on this, will get back to you.
on Sep 11, 2004

The point about DU isn't just that they're nuts but that they're legion.

There were people who hated Clinton too on the right but in terms of numbers, they never even approached DU's level.

I challenge someone to find a right wing Internet community that is even remotely in the same league as Democratic Underground.

Freerepublic.com -- Alexa traffic rank : 2,451 (wow that's even better thanb DU!)

Draginol,

I was taking a look at Moore Watch [LINK], and I was looking at T-shirts, and what do you know they have T-shirts for the VRWC Organization.

Of course, VRWC stands for Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, and I thought it was funny with some of the shirts, check it out for some good funny shirts pertaining to the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.

To the People who hate Moorewatch.com,
Now don't start hammering me on, Moorewatch is Pro-Bush blah blah, they just hate Michael Moore, which I would still like to see him donate money to soldiers he used in his film, families affected by 9/11, and heck since he was a rich got and GOT THE BIG TAX BREAK, he can fill out the form and give the money back to the government.
