A whole new world!
Published on February 18, 2008 By Draginol In Blogging

It's a whole new JoeUser.

The site has been completely rewritten from scratch. Some features haven't been completely re-implemented and there are bound to be some glitches.

But we now have the kind of backend and application support to do all kinds of cool stuff.

In the coming days, various usability tweaks will be made as we discover what key little features we've overlooked. Then, in the next few weeks, we'll start to add in new abilities and such.

We hope you like the new setup. I think as you look around your blogs you'll find that you have a lot more control than before and will find that things actually (shock) work much better than the old system.

Well, every time I try, I get a broken link or a box with a red cross in it. I following exactly the same process as I have done previously and still nothing.

It would be nice if one of the administrators responded and let me know what is going on as I've posted this problem a couple of times with no response.

Will we be able to use animated gifs as our avatars now?  This is my normal forum avatar across the Internets

On a separate note, will we be able to pay something to get rid of the copious amount of google ads?  I understand their value, but I find them too numerous and distracting.

I've noticed that every time I go to 'My Replies' it claims that I was the last one to post in everything on the list. Which is a bit odd, because I haven't been. Is this a cookie thing or is it on the database end?

Also, trying to post a blog seems to crash Firefox 2.0.0.12 for Mac entirely. Have you upped the system requirements (I have a pretty antique iBook G4, so it's not out of the question that it's crashing from the load) or is it more likely that I have a conflict somewhere?

Why not just email Zoomba directly?

for some reason, I had mad issues signing in...and in adding comments. I had to go to the HTML editor before it would let me write anything....hmmmm. I miss the "recent articles" button. I don't want to have to search each and every forum....it was nice to have a quick way to check on what has happened. Any chance that will return? Of course, I love the free ice cream and all. I'm just asking about the sprinkles.

Any idea where the religion category went on the forums page?

I'ts not a "whole new" anything.  It is just JU redone to look like a blogger.com and wordpress.

While I'm asking for sprinkles....I miss being able to see all the articles written by someone (not just a short blurb)  Any chance of a "view all blogs" button?

And "recent articles" buttons are cool too!

My, aren't we confident. So you've been to the office and looked through the codebase eh?

andrew_ makes the 'Ignore User' feature a priority.

I don't care what the code base looks like.  I'm merely commenting on what I see.  To me it looks a lot like just a generic blog site and functions like wordpress.

If you want to ignore me for that, knock yourself out.
