MyColors Theme Manager in action.

The new MyColors Theme Manager is much nicer than anything we've done in the past in this area. Here's why:

  1. We can update themes and MyColors will automatically update them for you.
  2. We can update the underlying software and MyColors will automatically update.
  3. If you move to a new machine or whatever, you just type in your serial # for the theme and it will download it all within MyColors.

These 3 things just make it so much better for users (and for tech support).  For instance, I noticed that my Sins of a Solar Empire theme has my user name in the Start menu too far over. Oops. Glitch. No problem though because the theme can be fixed and once updated, users in MyColors will add that an update is available and download it right within the program.

How can we add older themes to MyColors? I have almost all the pay for themes (Abracadabra, Omega, Fortune, Magic, etc) but they were purchased before the advent of MyColors and do not have serial numbers; just download links in the listing of my purchases. I'd like to change over to MyColors esclusively but can not because all my premium skins except for Gyre are not able to be imported into the new format. DD

Will MyColors allow for the creation of user-created suites (or themes) or will (classic) Theme Manager need to be used?  Or something different?

Or, is the infrequency of uploads of suites to WC indicative that suites aren't popular and are not going to be supported?

We haven't decided but odds are, we'll only support Mycolors themes in MyColors and continue with traditional Theme Manager for .suite files.

I'm sure I know the answer to this question but I will ask it anyways, it may help other folks.

I have a current subscription to ObjectDesktop, should I wait until ObjectDesktop 2008 comes out to consider getting MyColors skins? From what I have read MyColors appears that it will be a part of ObjectDesktop 2008.

I'm thinking yes, but I'd like to hear from the folks that really know.

Bummer... I had liked the idea of one theme manger for both mycolors and regular themes.
That and my colors just looks cool. (it looks the way I would imagine the Premiere Desktop Customization company's UI to look).

The thing I'm trying to get at is that on the MyColors site, themes (or suites) such as Toon and Argos and Omega (which I already purchased when the ORIGINALLY came out) are listed for purchase and to be downloaded to MyColors. I already have them and want them in MyColors but they didn't have serial numbers (even the most recent one I bought of Magic) so they can't be added to MyColors. Is there a way to get serial numbers for these if I can prove purchase of the orignal premium suites so that I can add them to MyColors??? DD

I think its cause they haven't been updated with the new MyColors...

Magic DEFINITELY is available with a serial number to work in MyColors but when I bought it, it was before the release of the program and hence: no serial so it can't be added. DD

Long term, it's hard to say. We may provide something special for ODNT users. But right now we're just focusing on nailing down the growing pains in MyColors.

That would be awesome

Understandable to want to make sure it's all running smoothly before trying to tackle new features etc.

I look forward to what the future holds

Will they be distributing serial #s for all the "suites" that are now being called "themes" so that they can be used in MyColors??? If not, then I'll just tank MyColors and the Gyre theme and go back to using Theme Manager exclusively and won't bother purchasing any new stuff that requires MyColors to apply it. Seriously disappointed that this question has yet to be answered. DD

Problem is if I want to edit the skin (for example, make a compact start menu I can't).
