MyColors Theme Manager in action.

The new MyColors Theme Manager is much nicer than anything we've done in the past in this area. Here's why:

  1. We can update themes and MyColors will automatically update them for you.
  2. We can update the underlying software and MyColors will automatically update.
  3. If you move to a new machine or whatever, you just type in your serial # for the theme and it will download it all within MyColors.

These 3 things just make it so much better for users (and for tech support).  For instance, I noticed that my Sins of a Solar Empire theme has my user name in the Start menu too far over. Oops. Glitch. No problem though because the theme can be fixed and once updated, users in MyColors will add that an update is available and download it right within the program.

Problem is if I want to edit the skin (for example, make a compact start menu I can't).
I agree that for power users a way to convert MyColors themes to something the user can edit using ODNT tools would be a good thing.

Will they be distributing serial #s for all the "suites" that are now being called "themes" so that they can be used in MyColors??? If not, then I'll just tank MyColors and the Gyre theme and go back to using Theme Manager exclusively and won't bother purchasing any new stuff that requires MyColors to apply it. Seriously disappointed that this question has yet to be answered. DD

All new premium suites from Stardock will use MyColors.  But once applied, MyColors content is put into the respective folders (WindowBlinds, IconPackager, etc.).

Are the images "encrypted" or can they be edited?

Frogboy, Thank You for letting us know. My question is how do we get new serial numbers for the suites that we already have?

I just tried to enter the serial number I have for Toons XP and My Colors tells me it's invalid.

Will we automatically be getting the proper serial numbers for the suites we already have, or will we have to send an e-mail request listing the themes that need new serial numbers?

Appreciate the great upgrades.
