from what i am told by real life liberals... bushs stimulus was evil and vicious rape of america (Despite being opposed by most republicans and passed mostly by democrats... and by most i mean 10/50 most not simply majority)... and yet obama's plan is a godsend... so yea that is what they signed up for...

as for the other major changes... also lauded. I literally said to a liberal "didn't you say this was evil when bush was doing it? and obama is doing it too now" and was responded with "well I guess I have to rethink my opposition to the subject"...

Another explained to me how bush sanctioned ILLIGAL torture of enemy combatants / survailence of americans... while obama is now going to do so LEGALLY (by properly changing the laws... apperantly the way "bush" aka congress did was NOT legal before, is legal now)...

I am not even sure if obama DID sanction any torture, but that is what I was told...

Theres a certain amount of "I told ya so" satisfaction that comes along with having Obamas actual intentions confirmed so early, but now I just hope that we can survive the damage he will do to our country for the next 4 years until we can get him out of office.

well... i really hoped he would proove me wrong. but this "stimulus" and the promise of another one of the same size scare the crap out of me, in my worse nightmares about obama I never imagined it will be THAT bad....

America is getting what they voted for....a Chicago politician.

Obama and democrats haven't had their power for more than a month, and already they are shaping America to be their socialist state they have always wanted.

Come now comrade, let us all enjoy some cake as equals... no matter how hard we work...

I'm unemployed and I refuse to take handouts until I'm starving on the street.  I'm actually proud to say that.
Seeing as I have a roof over my head, a computer and internet, I don't feel I've reached that point...

As long as Obama is black there is no way that will matter.

Liberals do accept that Democrats can be irresponsible corrupt gangsters, but only WHITE Democrats.

(I assume a corrupt Republican black is possible.)

I don't like this idea but I have said before, sometimes people just need to be taught a lesson. So, even though many innocent will suffer, I say let them have what they asked for and we'll clean up the mess afterward.

You have to give it to the Democrats they were pretty clever. Anyone opposing the president will be labeled a racist and diminish any threat to their agenda. They took a chance on the racial climate in the US (which IMO is pretty good), the current politically correctness and got the most inexperienced candidate in modern history elected to the presidency. Most black voters will never abandon Obama, no matter what, on the principle alone. So he may be infallible regardless off what he does.

I'm completely amazed that the left were so worried about being "wire-tapped", the outrage of the Patriot Act, yet they roll over and support legislation that hasn't been scrutinized in it's entirety by one person. Here's my analogy.

A man wants to buy a car. The dealer tells him he has just the car for him, it's a bit expensive but you need this car NOW. What model/color is it? Don't worry you'll like it, it's loaded. The man asks if he can see it and is told NO, if you don't take it you will never be able to have another one, and your dog (or was it your wife) may die to boot.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

The Democrats were not clever. They were steamrollered by Obama's campaign even more than the Republicans were. The Democratic establishment wanted Hillary Clinton. But Obama was unstoppable.

It reminds me of the New Coke fiasco. And the Democrats and the US finally ended up not with "new" politicians but with the Chicago establishment. Perhaps the USA do need "change". But perhaps so does Chicago.

I'll agree in part, they did want Clinton. After super Tuesday they threw her to the wolfs quick. They realized race trumps gender any day of the week (look at both Clinton and Palin). Hillary was alway going to have a polarizing effect to some degree. She was discarded quickly for the better hand. So I'll stand by my original post since they were clever enough to jump on the BO bandwagon at the right time.

I quit my job and took a student loan, for the first time in my LIFE I am in debt, and I REFUSE to go back to work until I see an INCENTIVE to do so. I am an able bodied 24 year old single man, and I refuse to be the sucker who works for others.

except they will blame bush and the republicans... heck the first stimulus is "bush's bailout for rich people", despite it being voted for by a supermajority of democrats and voted against by a supermajority of republicans.

see the problem I have with this is the fact once you start inacting alot of the stuff that is in the bill... its very very hard to take it away. Thats political suicide for anyone that tries to do so after its in place. So no it cant be fixed not without alot of pain and a realzation from the politicans that reverse all this stuff that their term is short lived... as long as they understand its best for the country... but really when was the last time any politican did anything that was a huge opposition that was better off for the country? none come to mind
