Well....you need several dozen of them together at one time to form a gestalt....otherwise they're not sentient.....

I cannot stand the Star Wars FRANCHISE .... not once it's demonstrated it is a product-placement vehicle for all the Lucas' Star Wars toys....nothing more.....

Personally, I need my S/F a little more mature and cerebral....

As to the OP, Just another case of the screaming minority causing bad decisions for the majority. They are all still babies that need a constant soother to shut them up..

My family and I couldn't get into BSG re-imagined after having watched just about every original BSG episode during the Thanksgiving Day marathons on Sci-Fi years ago. Stargate Universe didn't work for us either, when it used the same style as BSG re-imagined, in contrast to SG-1 and Atlantis, which we loved.

BSG was great, but it has the same portion of ridiculous fans. I hope someone realizes that this franchise has some more potential sales. No reason there couldn't a next generation. Science Fiction is pretty much dead on TV right now.

Finished watching up the whole Babylon 5 series a few months ago, plus the Crusade follow-up series, plus the mini-movies, plus the actual movies ... and in a month or two will be watching them with my friend all over again!

Indeed, after Stargate Atlantis was cut short to make way for Universe, only for Universe to not be well received and subsequently canceled. Which led to the third SG-1 movie and the first Atlantis movie being shelved indefinitely, when more SG-1 and Atlantis were what the majority of fans wanted to see, I started getting disappointed. Eureka was the last thing I liked on Sci-Fi, but the next season is going to be the final season. I have been really disappointed with Science Fiction television ever since these things started happening.

Have you seen BSG 1980? The one with "super scouts" and "flying motocycles"? Because, despite what rabids fan what to believe, it's totally canon. Oh, not that I liked it (the 1980's) but canon is canon... *points at Jar Jar Binks*

A third SG series (one of my favourite franchises too) in the same style as SG-1 and Atlantis would have been boring. Damn, Atlantis latest seasons were already "That guy AGAIN?" and "That menace AGAIN?". That said, I really liked the last seasons of SG-1, so sad for its ending. Liked Universe despite its flaws and I hate when they cut shows like that. At least SG-1 got some real closure with the movies. Pity about Atlantis one.

I did watch a couple of episodes of the original just after BSG re-imagined was finished. I found it sit-com in style almost........it didn't make me want to see the whole thing at all.

Oh....

and number 6 is much hotter than Princess Leia.

I am torn about wanting a new wave of science fiction to hit popular culture. With what happened to vampires in the last decade I am afraid to even think about what terrible things might happen to science fiction. Hopefully TV moves to a lower production quality internet based viewership in the next few decades. Then maybe high quality TV can be a reality again.
