We're trying to figure out a database issue that is related to JoeUser.com.  So we have been having to take JU down periodically in order to test potential solutions.

I've come to enjoy being able to write my story and also thoughts, and get feedback! or ignored...or worse!
I appreciate the site and am using the "down" time to get other things done.
I like JU and want to thank you for it!

OOOOOps, double post!

Trying something else briefly this morning. If it doesn't stay happy, I'll probably turn JU back off until the team is back on Monday.

wonder if this will land here. On one hand, since the move one of 2 servers for a 4 million visitor site is only indirectly reconnected via a new
network, and this bug is worked on, Frogboy said on WC.

As to the bug itself, being a naive newbie, I still sometimes know I have crosslinked my own sites and russian forums wrong using the
wrong user id (logged out general url would have been better for other peoples usage than just copying my logged in and out ids to a
link for them like I did.

Some links I now can not remove because I put them in Thomassens guest book to give him a better chance to get to my article
than a dead link had given him because I tried to switch channels of forums for an article I had already forumreleased. Only he
can edit his guest book, when he can, which currently of course is not always. Likewise, I guestblogged the wrong user ID
into a russian forum unregistered there at that point, which I now cannot edit there even when logged in because I can only
edit what I blogged logged in and not my old stuff when I was just a guest. This way, even if I keep rekilling my own bookmarks,
links and cookies accessable to me, again only temporarily also on JU AND STARDOCK, whoever saw and interacted to my stuff using not
dead links might have simultaneously left me logged in and out at once, and I cant trace everybody that could have been involved.

Could this be part of whats causing it and how good are the chances of other peoples sites working better if I painstakingly try
to clean up what I can recall, trace and have access to, or is it advisory to just wait, live with some dead links, and do things
better in the future? Manopeace suggested changing identities which I once did for another reason, maybe changing once and
rechanging back to my now alias would synch things again?

Status Update:

I'm still trying to locate the problem and in doing so I have turned off parts of the site while I try and find the problem areas.  Just  thought I'd let you know so when you are browsing around and realize that not everything is working you would know why.

Thanks again, you need a break too. If I did not live in Germany, some nice
ladies would bring you a donut from my imaginary bakery, Janitor T-Man.

Dont worry or hurry, one update every 1 or 2 days is great, no matter who does it.

Sometimes it takes some downtime to keep things rolling better. Thanks for listening to our whining about the bugs, but even more, thank you for taking time away from revenue gaining parts of Stardock to take care of us freeloaders!! ;~D

Today is Thursday in Australia and I haven't been able to access my page since the weekend, although I can see the Forums page. I'm sure you guys are working hard on the problem and I hope to see everything back up and running smoothly soon.

Keep up the good work...

Cheers,

Maso

We are still in test mode in determining the problem as we have not isolated it yet.  We are turning JoeUser back on today and hopefully with a bit of luck it will run problem free.
