An awesome glass with blue swirls vase, a nice Calgon Hawaiian Ginger bath set, a scrunchy neck pillow, and a cute sweater.

Plus, a Christmas bonus from work!

But the best part of all was living the Santa-wonder through my three year old's eyes. We watched Polar Express last night and his cries of "It's SANTA! SANTA!" melted my heart. Listening to him on the phone this morning telling his dad that "Santa ATE the cookies!" just about made me cry with happiness that he was so into it. Having my 12 year old daughter cease her endless teasing of her brother to unite with me to make this a special magical day for her brother touched me and drew us closer.

"Merwwy Cwistmus Mommy!" Love. That's the best Christmas gift I got!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Andrew: It's a great space strategy/tactics game. It's got a fairly slow, deliberate pace for most of it, but there are a few high tension moments where you're counting the seconds until you get that essential ship built. It runs great on my Powerbook, so if you have a desktop Mac with a vid card better than an ATI Mobility, it'll run like a dream for you.

And it's been out ages, so it's fairly cheap too.

Here’s the loot that I got:

Some cool suede house shoes
Containers for my coffee/sugar/cookies
A backpack with that words "You don't touch other's stuff" on it in Tarantino
A cool pair of red underwear with Tarantino on them (it is an Italian custom to wear red underwear on New Year's eve)
A bag to carry all my toiletry items in (included in it was some shaving cream, after shave lotion and some deodorant)
An awesome black and orange stocking cap
Tarantino calendar

Overall, it was a great Christmas!

We finally moved into to our newly renovated house. So a new home was the best thing I got. It is such a relief to feel "home" again.

Yeah, I haven't been able to get it to connect yet. Just keep trying?

I gave up.  I got into it ONCE and then I got kicked off.  I'm writing it off as a loss....but I do feel somewhat better knowing that it's not just me who can't get it to connect.

Sorry yours won't work either.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Dude, I wish that you'd told me you were going to be alone for Christmas.  I'd have made you and Fuzzy a little something so you'd have had a gift each to open.

You know what?  I'm going to do that anyway.  Christmas is going to happen a little late for you this year, Gene, but it WILL happen.

Is it too hot to wear a hat there?  Or a scarf?  Screw it.  I'm making you one anyway.

We do that too. My dad was Mexican. It means you will get a lot of love in the new year. You also should eat twelve grapes at midnight. Another tradition. Feliz Nuevo Anos!

I could have had anything.... This year my best gifts involved touch, taste and my favorite sense - voyeurism. Contemplating my 40 something wife's 20 something child like enthusiasm bring joy to the house as she multi-tasked her way to another wonderful Christmas. Seeing my wife realize Santa didn't wait until the last minute to be creative and thoughtful. To watch her savior our adolescent son as his eyes glazed over with surprise opening each gift, and then discovering his first "big dog" (a driver) with two special grind wedges to fill out his golf bag.

When I was a child, right of passage meant being invited on a hunting trip with the men... Times and lifestyles have changed that somewhat and I didn't realize it until yesterday. Later, momentary thoughts engulfed me as I noticed my wife standing in dark blue silk pajamas in the back yard watching "A" and I hit our approach shots into the green. A great feeling came on when I watched "A" use his new sand wedge to hit from a deep bunker to within a 6' of the pin. But best of all feelings were granted me on 18th tee when I instructed my son in how to handle the "big dog" respectfully, and he listen intently.

A moment of flabbergast overcame me when he hit a golf ball further then he could imagine....ending in the perfect approach location. He turned to me with an astonished look and quickly said, dad, see I listen to you. I had to hold back the tears In a life time of adventure and success only a few things equaled yesterday. Watching his eyes when we got to our balls and he was even with mine. It didn't matter to him that he was hitting from the red tees and I was playing from the Championship tees. All that mattered was he was next to me down the fairway. Then when we walked into the house my sense of smell and touch was excited by the aroma of a full Christmas dinner that I didn't cook followed by a big warm hug and deep kiss from "B" before thanking me for being a great man in so many ways.

Forty-eight years as a bachelor, traveling the world under every imaginable condition, had anything I wanted..... Yet nothing offered such sensations before marrying some years ago and becoming an instant father to a 5yr old boy. In retrospect, I watched, listened, tasted and savior Christmas as it was intended for man. I've always thought that giving is the best most selfish gift of all.

A day late but, Merry Christmas Brad.

I didn't get anything as I had already received all my gifts early. Did have a wonderful dinner though.
