Every so often I see someone say they're not going to blog anymore because they didn't get their articles featured to the home page or because there aren't enough comments on their blogs. I think those people need to ask themselves why they're blogging in the first place. Personally, I blog because I enjoy writing. I enjoy communicating with others. And yes, I do want others to read what I write. But I don't sit back and wait for some automated system to promote my stuff...
Every do a favor for a friend or business associate only to have them not only not return the favor but nit-pick on everything you're doing. That's how I'm feeling right now. I feel like I'm volunteering time to help landscape a friend's yard only to have my friend sit there and nit-pick the way I'm digging or complain that I'm not going fast enough. Except this is in the realm of business. We have certain levels of custom service we're used to being able to provide to our cust...
Bummer, the artist we were trying to hire in from the west isn't going to be able to come. Now we're still stuck without a lead modeler on Master of Magic/Sorcery. The search continues.

It never ceases to amaze me how quick some people are to spit on those that are giving them something for nothing. Just so that others can be pre-warned, don't call me a "Nazi" or "Fascist" or any other hateful name. I don't have to put up with it. And I won't. I don't know what the deal is with the far left wing people on the Internet and their fixation with calling people "nazis" and such. Do they even realize that Nazi stands for National Socialist. They weren't right-win...
This is a response to the associated link. Was going to make it a response but the amount of editing it would take made it too time consuming. So I used Blog Navigator Pro to do it up in its built in blog editor. Questions to conservatives: Why is it that the right attacks anyone who questions the war in Iraq for not supporting our troops, yet impugns a decorated war veteran's integrity, including things like purple heart band-aids? Why is it members of the military tell me tha...
We ban griefers. We can even IP ban someone. But if someone really wants to get at a given blogger, they can via anonymous accounts. For those of you who have blogs who feel like they're getting stalked by trolls and other jerks, you can stop them. When you create an article, only allow registerd users to respond to your article. That way, you have some say over who can interact on your site. It's important to keep perspective on your blog site - IT'S YOUR OWN BLOG. You don't have to p...
I'm not the only one who thinks people like Michael Moore cost the Democrats dearly...
Interesting discussion from Roger Simon's site. - I voted against a blatantly biased media that applied a double standard in their reporting that surpassed belief. I voted against a media that believed they could get more credible witnesses to Kerry's Vietnam experience by traveling to Vietnam than they could get from 254 Americans, including retired Admirals and a Congressional Medal of Honor winner. I voted against a media that attempted to smear a sitting president using patently bogus...
In a poll on DemocraticUnderground.org, over 70% of its users responded that 11/3 was a worse day for them than 9/11. Kind of puts things in perspective..well not really.
Here's the money quote: The Guardian, the fever chart of the British Left, decided to arrange a controlled experiment in the effectiveness of the Bush-hating strategy. They targeted the voters of Clark County, Ohio, one of the swingiest counties in a critical swing state, by getting Guardian readers to send them letters explaining why they shouldn't vote for Bush. Antonia Fraser, John Le Carre and other celebrated Guardianistas put pen to paper and marshalled their arguments. Richard D...
Joeuser.com is unique in the sense that it is a blog community. We all have our own individual blogs that then make up a greater blog (so to speak). During the political season, it was really a challenge to keep the overall community from becoming radicalized. Anyone who has ever run a community knows there are very specific dyanmics that tend to work towards making a community radicalized. The primary dynamic is critical mass. Critical mass in this sense being where enough vocal supp...
As far as I know, JoeUser.com is the only blog community on the Internet. There are various blog services out there but each blog is an island. That is, they are completely isolated from other sites on there. The downside of the way we have JoeUser is that it's hard to avoid having the opinions of those who you dislike show up on your page somewhere as part of the "newest" or "featured" and the like. Of course, as some people who have left JoeUser because of those reasons have le...
