I learned today that one of my friends was recently in a very serious car accident. I've been been stunned much of the day at this news.

Wow, glad to hear your friend is OK. You're right, times like these make you appreciate the fragility of life, and how sudden it can be taken.

Car accident. I know how that can be. Your whole life can change in a split second.

I hope your friend will be ok.

Yeah, I know about serious car accidents too. As Mason said, your entire life can change as the result of an event that lasts ten seconds.....

I'll have good thoughts for your friend when I meditate today. Can you give me their first name? It helps me to focus better...

I'm stunned too. One minute he was one of the brightest minds out there, the next he suffers major head trauma, is decapacitated for months, and noone knows if he will ever recover fully since he has short term memory problems currently. It is absolutely terrifying!

I can't even imagine what his mom and sister have been going through. That phone call is what nightmares are made of. Their lives have been on hold these past few months in order to be by his side.

It looks like he is recovering miraculously well given the extent of his injuries. Here's hoping he keeps it up. He will never be the same but here's hoping he comes pretty darn close.

Can you give me their first name?

His name is Eric.
