IconPackager - Changing your Windows icons and beyond...
Published on April 6, 2004 By Draginol In OS Customization

This month's Stardock TV focuses primarily on IconPackager. But with the new release of Object Desktop 2004 (the yearly snapshot of all of the programs that make up Object Desktop being aligned into a single coherent product) we take a quick look at that too.

This is IconPackager 2.5. The world's most popular way (by far) of changing your Windows icons by applying packages (sometimes called sets) of icons.

This is Theme Manager. It's been totally rewritten and is the successor to the popular "WinStyles" program. It lets you apply individual skins, themes, icons, wallpapers, etc. Or you can apply entire "suites" at once. When you have your desktop just the way you want it, you can save it as a .suite and bring it back later.

Some people think Object Desktop is all about eye candy and glitz. But Object Desktop is really about turbo charging Windows to work how you want it to. This month's Stardock TV also shows how you can use Object Desktop to create a minimalistic desktop. Just raw speed.

very interesting video.. the whole concept is wonderful, and am very surprised that I'm the first to comment on this... am a student, so am saving until I can afford this, hence hunting around for free software, and as my hopes were up for cam studio free software, most places I look now forward a link to macromedia and robodemo!!! This costs money, and a student has finacial concerns too!!!

All in all, would be trying out the software once I manage to get either an agreement with my bank to loan me more money, or budget between the 2 bits of software... that is unless you know of someone that can provide cam studio, the older version of robodemo on a CD/ftp/etc!!!

only time will tell!!!

peace out babe
