Where we're at..l.

We've been working really hard to get Political Machine ready for next week's beta for Drengin.net users. There's a lot of play balancing issues we need to work out. The multiplayer is starting to come along though.

Probably the biggest things we need to address right now are:

1) More questions for the TV shows. This is something I have to really work on since it's my area.

2) Look at the effect of ads and such more. I'm getting my butt kicked by the AI but it's not always intuitive why.

3) Difficulty levels for the AI.

4) Balance Democrats and Republicans to ensure that it's equally hard/easy to win.

5) Make sure no one thing is too powerful.

6) Introduce partisanship in the states (i.e. make it so that some states tilt more Republican or Democrat than they currently do).

7) Tweak the issues so that while there is variation in states, they don't switch sides. I.e. There shouldn't be a case where Republicans favor Universal health care or Democrats are against abortion rights.

Is the level of intensity of the color representative of the percentage of that state that wants to vote for you?

Cheers

I love this game the more and more I see it, I wish you could release more of these screen shots because I love to take a good look at what is going on in these maps. I am so glad I was watching CNN when they showed the game because I can't wait to play it.

I stumbled on this game while searching. There is a candidate with my name and everything. How does one get into a game?

I can't wait to play the beta. I've seen a few places talk about it recently, and its getting me more excited. I don't see this game doing better than GalCiv but I really hope it does good. I'm always pulling for you Stardock......I have to think you and Blizzard are my favorite companies. I'm serious, whenever I see someone suggest Galciv because its one of the greatest strategy games in years it puts a smile on my face. I think its because I'm a strategy fan(strategy games are the only ones I can play for more than an hour at a time anymore) and you guys are one of the few companies who still focus on making good ones, or ones at all.
