You want to be a super hero?
Published on September 10, 2006 By Draginol In Blogging

There's a lot of super powers to choose from.  Flight, super strength, invulnerability, super speed, invisibility.

But if you had to choose one? Which would it be?

Being invulernable would be kind of nice but on the other hand, you could get stuck in a bad situation.  That's where super strength would be nice.  But super strength would be problematic because you could really hurt yourself.

The more I think about it, the more I conclude that most powers need to come in pairs with invulernability being one of them.  Take flight.  How fun would flight really be in practice as bugs and other things start flying in your face or you accidentally hit a tree or telephone wire or something?

Invisibility wouldn't require another power but I'm not sure what good it would do.  Yea, you can spy on people. Meh.

There's plenty of other powers that I haven't listed. But if you could only choose one power, which would it be?

Telepathy. You wouldn't need any other superpowers if it was impossible for other people to fool you. Sure, you could die, but I've never exactly wanted to be a target in the first place so that shouldn't be a problem.

Telekinesis (spelling) absolutely without doubt. To be able to move things with thought or a look - with great speed. That would be awesome and loads of fun too!

Hahaha, funny stuff! I can just see you now going into a tree while flying because of bugs!

I'm thinking, I would like the power of being able to see in the future. Then again a power like that would leave me vulnerable to too much information and possibly overload my sensitivity! Unless I'm also going to have the power of flight or being able to zap myself to where an accident is about to happen so that I can perhaps prevent it. Then there's the other problem of me interfaring with the time/space continium...then there's...oh forget it, there's too many 'ifs' and 'then there is' that's coming to mind!

If I could only choose one, I'd have to go with teleporting.

Telepathy!  Same as Cacto.  Of course it would not help with stray flying rocks. But hey!  You said one!

Good suggestions, but I think I would stick with the flying power.

the ability to heal myself and others, no matter how badly wounded or sick they are.

X-Ray Vision. Invisibility has too many variables.

This could also get you into trouble. Attend:

One day, Superman is out flying around Metropolis, kind of scanning everything with his x-ray vision, making sure all is well, when he sees Wonder Woman lying on the bed, naked with her legs spread. He thinks, "Man, I'm gonna get me some of that!" So, using super-speed, he flies into her window, has his fun and leaves.
"What was that?!" Wonder Woman yells.
"I dunno," the Invisible Man replied, 'but my ass hurts like hell!"

Ba-dump-bump! Chsssh!

Anyway, I'd have to go with whatever Rogue from the X-Men has; you could take whatever power you wanted from any other hero, if only for a little while. Although it'd be cool to have the super-fast healing of Wolverine, too.

And those claws aren't bad, eh?

You need to reference the comics, man. If she touches them until they die, she gets their powers for good. In the comics, she's super strong, can fly, and still plays the parasite. Very cool.

I would want The Voice, the ability to get people to do what I want through spoken commands. The Preacher had this power in the graphic novel series, "The Preacher."

That way I could make my sales quota. ("You bought HOW MANY licenses?!?")
