Do you have a flash light addiction? Crazy right? Well believe it or not, you wouldn't be alone.

This weekend, I found myself drawn to buying a 10 million candle equivalent flash light. I don't know why I bought it. But I did.

Here are some resources on the net:

I love My Dorcy 6 watt- 6AAA Led.

At 120 lumen, it screams and is almost as small as the sure fire. I work construction at night and need all the light I can get "head lights for my helmet as well as a hand held that is not to big and bulky. It's the best flashlight Ive ever had. Unlike many of the others it gets warm but don't over heat. In my profession bright light that lasts, is a life or death issue.

I had looked at the surefire-E2E but I could only find it with 60 lumen. So I went for the Dorcy.

So, how bright are 10,000,000 candles? Sounds like airplane landing lights.

Can you cook a bee hive with one of those?

10,000,000 candle power is like comparing a match to a car's headlamp as opposed to a standard flashlight. While I've no use for that kind of power one bright enough to illuminate the area on workstation to see the traces of the boards I'm working on is good enough. That and a good magnifier. Try using one of those a SAR team uses. Now that's power. Bright enough to rival the sun. And yeah...at a narrow beam focus you can cook a beehive.

Never go anywhere without my Mini Maglite.
Seems a bit pedestrian after following your links tho....

i invented a solar powered flashlight years ago. for some reason, it won't work very well at night.

speaking of mini mag flashlight, how aboput a 150-200mw laser made from your minimag. Thats right, a laser to light your cigerette or maybe just the match. How about a flashlight to help you in those situations when you need a fire...lamo... or maybe you want to burn a hole in your retina... watch out

I have 3 Arc LSes. My most expensive is the Surefire L4 Digital Lumamax. My EDC is the Infinity Ultra. The only light I di not and will not convert to LED is my Brinkmann Legend LX.

By CPF standards, I have a small collection of flashlights, headlamps, and lanterns (3, all LED).
