I have found a great community for talking to people about ways to decrease my impact on the environment.

The new home my wife and I are building is one I want to try to reduce the amount of energy it uses (despite the fact that it's ridiculously big).

If you're interested in green solutions, it's a great site.

That is a fabulous site.  It really can make a huge difference if you make those choices AS you are buliding.  That is really the way to do it.

I think it's great you guys are trying to be environmentally-minded while building your dream home!

So, are you guys looking at sustainable design or are you trying to use better building products? It's been a couple of years since I went to the International Home Builders Show but there were some amazing building products out there.

Lumeloid, at 4cents a killowatt hour you would have to be DOH! not to make use of this new solar cell. Supposed to be available in a couple of years.
