It's so very attractive.

Looking good.

If only it was based on Australian politics (ala the political system I DO actually understand).

I want the game already!

Oh man. "The O'Malley Scenario" is gold. This looks very user-friendly unlike most of the other "election games" I've played, and quite funny to boot. Looking forward to this much more after seeing these screenshots.

EDIT: Wow, McCain's chin is so large it's knocking him over.

Any chance for a GalCiv version? I like the topics in the last screenshot.

Any chance for per-order using PayPal? I hate the fact that we can only purchase tokens by multiples of 10, as tokens are supposed to be fading out in the future...

They've mentioned that there is a Drengi High Lord election scenario, so yeah. You can campaign to be the ruler of Drengi however you want - do you want to be nicer to those slaves in the pits or do you want to crack down on diplomacy?

It'll probably be the last scenario I try, but it looks like fun anyway.

Heheh Bill Clinton's running for emperor on Drengia. He must've escaped from one of the slave pits.

Anyone else notice Bret Hart is the Celeberity who is endorcing McCain, he's not even American!

I guess for once he actually feels their pain.

I realize it is late in the development cycle to be asking about this and/or possibly making suggestions, but I'm curious if The Political Machine 2008 will possibly deal with duplicitous candidates.  For example, with the issues that pop-up and must be dealt with in some way, lets say that you choose to use an approach that pleases the electorate in Ohio but would do so at the expense of voters in say Mississippi and causes them to shift more of their support to the other candidate.  Will PM2008 offer that sort of subtlety, or more of a straightline choice A results in a gain or loss nationally and not so much regionally or locally??

on May 25, 2008
I'm assuming by some of the pictures that there is a strong regional thing. I wanna see more of the Drengi election, those topics are comedy gold

This game is on my to buy list along with pretty much every game made by stardock

Lord Kona is a republican, i knew there was another reason why he was evil.

Can I be the first person to report a bug in TPM 2008? (And the Beta isn't even out yet.)

If you take a look at the screen shot where the Steven Colbert character is talking to John McCain about high gas prices (image_17.png) there is a typo. It says:

"I don't know about you, but the ever-rising gas prices are starting to get on my nerves. My Hummer only gets eight miles to the gallon, and I am starting to worry that I once I have the solid gold engine installed it will get even worse. As president do you think you can do anything about it?"

I have put the typo in red so everybody can see.
