Osama offers a truce?

Osama's not quite so boastful anymore..

One thing that you can't ignore from Osama's latest message is how deflated his words are. Long gone are the talks of world domination and accusations of American cowardice.

In the end, Osama is looking essentially for a truce. And he's delivered his truce offer on the eve of the election. Choose Bush and continue the war or choose Kerry and there's an opportunity for peace with Al Qaeda -- assuming you take the word of a murderous terrorist. Stay the course with Bush or become like "Sweden" with Kerry where we have nothing to fear from Al Qaeda -- so says Bin Laden.

The question will be answered on Tuesday. I for one take great comfort in knowing that the war on terror must be going well for the US. Bin Laden, once full of confidence and defiance now pleads his case for us to leave him alone. But we won't leave him alone. Because America isn't like Sweden (which is slowly becoming Islamic itself according to their latest census). We won't bow down to monsters like Bin Laden and we won't take him at his word. We won't stop until Al Qaeda has been eradicated and Bin Laden taken into justice or removed from existence.

I suppose his truce would be like the one they offered to the Spaniards? Didn't they just arrest a whole load of susoected terrs in the last few weeks?

To pretend that Osama's message is now more modest and conciliatory is naive. Given the manipulative prowess of this man it is foolish to assume such a straightforward premise.

The velvet of his glove can be more comforting than the cold of his iron fist.

I have a question that I really hope get's answered, especially after reading this blog: Why do you think that most people who practise Islam outside America hate Americans? I mean, what reasons would they give. Moreover, do you think there are any such reasons that are worthwhile (maybe not worth fighting over, but somewhat logical and understandable from their point of views)?

Remember his goal of terrorism, speading terror and Chaos. Perhaps this is a more powerfull version of terrorism, to appeal to the masses of the U.S. to have them elect different leadership to effectively control the election of the new president and the election of senitors and representitives. Perhaps he has decided that it is far easier to achieve his goals through both honey and vinegar than merely to constantly attack. Pay head to his new tactics he's up to more than he's showing. The goal of terrorism ultimately is a political tool used for the uheval of government.

Election isn't over yet. While I am not altering my lifestyle because of something that a terrorist is/has said, I certainly think it is foolish to believe there would be a truce of any type, regardless of who "wins" the election.

In my opinion, the video is a reverse psychology attempt by OBL because he actually likes what Bush has done for his cause. But anybody who would change their vote based on what this prick has to say has already subordinated reason and is reacting with the reptile mind....
