I don’t know about you guys but one thing I’ve become obsessed with is being able to change icons in devices and printers. I’ve figured out how to do it using a resource hacker but what I am looking for us to do is figure out a way to add a “change icon” option that lets me simply replace the icon. I’m surprised Microsoft doesn’t just do this.

I always wanted to be able to do this, not only with devices like you did but with folders as well. I always wanted to change my "games" folder into mario's head just for kicks

It would be real cool for it to recognize your hardware, and pull an image from say Amazon and display it.

The thing is, kona, this is a skinning/customisation site... it's what we do.  So when something is stubborn and doesn't like/want to be customised, it's a challenge... it's what we do.

I thought Win7 did this.

The Op was viewed when logged into Wincustomize.  As it is about customisation, I took it to be aimed at the WC forums.

Yet it isn't shown purely on the WC forums.  This is the personal computing forum in 'off topic', nothing more or less.
