Future house continues to move along and we’re using a material called “SEALECTION 500” for the insulation.

Basically, it’s like having your house filled with styrofoam (at least, that’s how it tastes..).

Here’s the FAQ on it.

Once in, it looks like this:

Be wary of sealing up a home too tight, homes should breath.  If they don’t they create what we call “Ion Prisons”, which generally can lead to sick building syndromes, people with asthma, or worse.

Negative ions are essential for good health, and most modern homes are treacherous, filled with synthetic materials, toxic building materials, and are so tightly sealed they have an over abundance of positive ions.  This is not a good thing.  A friend of mine constructed a million dollar home a couple of years ago, and his entire family has manifested chronic medical conditions since moving into it.  His kids now have severe asthma and breathing difficulties.

When I test homes(especially so-called green homes) with my expensive Air Ion Density Tester, I find universally, they are void of healthy negative ions, and have too many positive ions. http://www.trifield.com/ion_detector.htm  The newer the home, the more likely this is a result, as older homes have crappy insulation, but this means they “Breathe”.

Anything synthetic and almost all “Tech” tend to “Eat” healthy negative ions, and push out unhealthy positive ions, in effect they ruin our environment and homes, and the end result is they help ruin our health. This isn’t new, the ancients called positive ion winds “Witches Winds” because they caused all kinds of mental and physical issues, accidents increased, and people’s moods turned sour. Humans have evolved over thousands of years to be in negative ion rich conditions, positive ions are never considered healthy.

If you are unfamiliar with negative ions, then it would be wise to research the topic in great detail.  A lack of them can cause many chronic illnesses, including long term depression.  Most people I find with depression often live and work in ion-depleted environments, and I have the instruments to test this and prove it to them directly.  Negative ions have a remarkable effect on pollution, particles, and germs, they drop them out and kill them. You can see a video on how fast negative ions remove smoke: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klqVapmohgc

If I was to build a new home, I would probably build-in negative ion projectors into each room, like an intercom system. Someone gets sick, you dial it up, everyone is fine, you dial them down.  Be wary though, MOST commercial negative ionizers do not work in my testing, in fact they seldom emit any discernable negative ions.

The best ones I have found are these:

I don’t like CFL’s (Mercury, UVB, EMF-Radiation, etc), but Ionizing CFL’s actually do emit an amazing amount of negative ions, so they are quite effective in some circumstances, such as in bathrooms and kitchens.

Some links to start researching this stuff, and why homes are “Sick”, and how the govt. knows all about negative ions, but doesn’t want you to know about them…

Is this really relevant? With global warming, the US should soon be a tropical paradise, and this administration is hell bent on making it the "Kenya of the west". No need to insulate your grass hut.

Thanks for the info!

Brad, some updated information.

Apparently there are commercial negative ion generators, once you can install when a home is built, such as a unit in each bedroom with a dial to control output.  So for example, allergy season? You can dial it up in the room.. Some sick? Dial it up to product at least 50,000ions/cc(neg) and the viruses will not be able to spread beyond that person.

In addition, I ordered, and have been testing a HVAC unit. It uses Photocatylic+UV+Ionization to sterilize and charge the air in your HVAC system.  Even though we do have a very advanced filtration system, it still uses charged membranes, and puts out positive ions. No physical medium is 100% anyway, despite what they claim, and most home filtration membranes become less than stellar after a fairly short period of time.  I grabbed one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290412452582

Very nice smelling, clean, crisp air.. But my ion meter shows over 150,000++ negative ions coming out of the vents on the main floor, and about 50,000ions/cc coming out on the third floor. In a big home, you might want more than one of these in succession on the intake and output of the HVAC system, this would only increase the negative ion emission into the home. The guy just raised his price by $65.00, but there are probably other sellers.  Combined with filtration this would offer a 'startling' level of quality to the air in a sealed up high efficiency home.

We often have folks comment on how 'amazing' it feels in our home. But each room has no less than 100,000 ions/cc(neg) at most points in the room. Pretty much what it feels like sitting next to the Niagara falls. None of us get sick, none of us spread germs to each other, and if someone does get burned for example, often it's cured overnight.

If you want to read about all of the 'suppressed' studies of ionization, there is no better book than this one:  http://www.amazon.com/EFFECT-ALAN-EDMONDS-FRED-SOYKA/dp/0553143883/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1278349259&sr=1-5

Basically you will discover that the military, and govt. has known for 50-60 years how positive ions are harmful, and negative ions are helpful, and to keep much of this out of the hands of regular folks. At 20,000ions/cc(neg) the immune system is stimulated to be 50-60% more effective. At 50,000, the mind is 347% more 'sharp'..  At 5,000+, the blood flow is improved, and oxygen reaching all cells of the body is increased by 82%. Negative ions also help keep the body PH balanced, and some say, cancer cannot spread with one taking in good negative ions, mostly because of the higher oxygen absorb factor from it.

This is serious business.
