…but don’t take pride in it.

For Tireless Rebutter there is no such thing as a trivial dispute. He regards all challenges as barbarians at the gates. His unflagging tenacity in making his points numbs and eventually wears down the opposition. Confident that his arguments are sound, Tireless Rebutter can't understand why he is universally loathed.

It’s a bad habit that I need to break. One nice thing on our forums is that I don’t have the luxury to indulge my baser parts because I’m the moderator, you can’t do that.  On other forums, I try to stay out of debates because I know the “Tireless Rebutter” is waiting to be set loose. But when I do, and he does, I always regret it.

I am the Devil's Advocate. I don't care what you say as long as I can make you consider the other.

Jafo is the TIRED Rebutter.....he's the one that 'tries' to make a point....but knows all too well that "the other guy" is almost always younger and fitter.....

.....and that walking away is good ...

With a narcissist or OCD'er - you can't win. They are fragile, and brittle and see challenges in the weather report. The only way "to win" is to know who you are dealing with, to recognize the need 'to win' in one's self and not play the game... "It takes two to tango."

This is something I'm guilty of... the profession taught 'never give up' in the past (as well as to be 'perfect' but that's different now).

Thank G-d for Jafo who's there to teach (as well as Hankers, WOM, Lantec, HG and Snowby... bless you guys). Thanks for doing it gently.

We wouldn't be human if we weren't guilty of something.

There's no shame in aiding others in relieving themselves of their misapprehensions.
