Brad Wardell's views about technology, politics, religion, world affairs, and all sorts of politically incorrect topics.

Between the Nanny Statists on the left and the thumpers on the right, I just can’t get excited about politics anymore.

I really don’t need anyone to tell me how to live.

I also really don’t care to hear the religious beliefs of a federal candidate. Why tell me? Are you hinting that you’re going to use the power of the federal government to compel me to live by your beliefs? No? Then quit talking about them. I care as  much for a Federal candidate’s religious beliefs as I do to who their favorite NFL team is. In other words, not at all.

It’s a no-win situation if you’re an actual political conservative (as in, limited government, personal responsibility, capitalist).

You have Obama and his ilk trumpeting that it’s somehow a good thing for the federal government to require private insurance companies to provide birth control as part of their policy. People think this is a good thing? Really? Forget your position on birth control for a minute – you think the federal government should be able to tell a private company that they have to include? Can’t people decide for themselves?  This is why insurance costs so much – the government requires them to cover the costs on all kinds of things whether they’re applicable or not.

And Santorum…ugh.  He gave a speech talking about Satan and his diabolical plans for the United States. This is the sort of talk that allows politicians to justify all kinds of meddling into our lives. You know, “for the children”.

Other than foreign policy, you're mostly describing libertarians... If only we had enough people pushing their ideas out there.

Like I said before, Santorum is Nehemiah Scudder... He's a bit too much of a theocrat for my tastes.

Yea, I am torn between a libertarian position and a conservative position.

I don't mind religion and that sort of thing. I just mind having it shoved down my throat.

Rick Santorum belongs in a sanitarium. I hope we end up with a reasonable nominee like Romney.. hes no prize winning package, but hes a lot better than Newt, crazy old Ron Paul and his cult, or Archbishop Santorum.

I just can’t get excited about politics anymore.

It's called vetting the candidates...when it comes to the GOP ....the media stipulates that everything they have said and done, for all their past life going forward,  counts.

As a comparison, how much vetting of Senator Obama did we get from the media after he said he wanted to transform America?  What was it? 2 minutes after he decided to run we were told not to call him by his full name, Barack Hussein Obama!!! And what  did the media report of Obama's years of listening to the Marxism imbedded in Rev. Jeremiah Wright's Black liberation theology? Sure the media talked about change...Did Obama fully accept Dr. James Cone's belief that together, Black religion and Marxist philosophy may show us the way to build a completely new society? Nah, we were told he sat there week after week but didn't take away anything. Obama was a college teacher..what do we know about that? Is he, for 100% sure, a US citizen? Didn't the country deserve answers to these questions?

You have Obama and his ilk trumpeting that it’s somehow a good thing for the federal government to require private insurance companies to provide birth control as part of their policy. People think this is a good thing? Really?

But it's a little more involved than that. We now know that Obama and his ilk (death peddlers all ) do indeed think it's a good thing for the federal government (Obamacare and HHS mandate) to require religious based employers such as universities, hospitals, etc. to provide birth control, sterilizations, and abortificients or face enormous fines that would end up shutting them down.

Forget your position on birth control for a minute – you think the federal government should be able to tell a private company that they have to include? Can’t people decide for themselves?

OK, I've waited a minute....no, it's unconstitutional.

No, not if you're into Obama big government and totalitarianism.

And Santorum…ugh.  He gave a speech talking about Satan and his diabolical plans for the United States.

Ya, Santorum's speech was back in August, 2008 and it was given at a Catholic University, Ave Maria in Naples, Fl.

Imagine that? A Catholic giving a speech at a Catholic University.

It sure didn't send the media into a dither three years ago.

This is the sort of talk that allows politicians to justify all kinds of meddling into our lives. You know, “for the children”.

How is a 3 year old speech Santorum gave to a Catholic University going to allow him to justify meddling in your life?

"for the children"?

Obama and his HHS thugs wage war on religious liberty and conscience rights but Santorum is the one with the dangerous Catholic beliefs!

I think they wage war on those who don't see the inherent wisdom of having the government decide everything for the masses.

Its not just his over the top religious demagoguery, Rick gives me a bad vibe all over. We should nominate someone a bit more even tempered.

The seperation of church and state:

on Feb 24, 2012

Wonder how any of the other presidents would have been treated had they made a similar appeal to just the white vote?

He said, "Somebody like me"...he's half white, but that only counts when he's playing golf I guess.

The good news is that Blacks are not unanimous in their love and admiration in the half white/half Black most "Saulinsky" radical candidate Hawaii ever produced!!!

The point is when the president campaigns on code words like in your faith community and becoming a congregation candidate it holds a double standard.

@Frogboy, don't be so easily fooled.

Your misreading R.Santorum's words because he is not actively pushing against birth control.  It's the latest attempt by the left media to create an agenda before election to help get out the vote.  They first attempted it with Romney, epic fail.  Seriously, abortion does not work anymore.  The left is convinced it's not going away anytime soon so some other gimmick is called for.  When was the last time you heard Republicans make a really big campaign stink about birth control anyway?

You've got that right.

Right again.

The nation sank lower into the pit as far as Obama, Pelosi, etc. and his media harlot attacking the First Amendment rights of Catholics.

Instead of abortion, he's using contraception. He's also using Miss Sandra Fluke, a law student  from Georgetown Univ. bad. No doubt by now you've heard she testified that Congress should gut the First Amendment becasue it inconvieniences the nation's elite law students. She said becasue Georgetown doesn't cover contraception for students, it created, "untenable burdens that impede our academic success". As a result, the school's sisterhood "suffered financially, emothionally, and medically". Contraception, she said, can cost over $3,000. a year while attending a $60.000.oo a year law school.

Libertarians FTW. Liberty means the right to differ, the right to be "left the hell alone".

Vote GARY JOHNSON in November!
