So someone who thinks it's terrible for someone to tease someone doesn't see the irony in telling someone they should kill themselves.
You have to love the Internet.
Brad, sorry if reply 3 is in bad taste. Was meant to be funny.
hmmm... so who do we believe???????
I'm getting the impression Brad was genuinely unaware that his behavior could really mess up some people's day. It's easy to be unaware of how your actions look to people with a different perspective, particularly when you have a circle of friends who have no problem with it. That doesn't justify her response, but it does serve as a reminder that maintaining an overall positive working environment means you can't just focus on the attitudes of your close friends.
There are upsides to caring about a more diverse group of people though - for one thing, they might catch mistakes you would have missed.
I don't know if I would classify it quite like that.
I talk more about it here: http://www.littletinyfrogs.com/article/430919/No_its_not_up_to_everyone_else_to_adapt_to_you
I'm seeing a bunch of people in a pub, or bar, having a drink or two in a relaxed atmosphere. In such a venue off hand remarks are almost always made and most times shrugged off. Sometimes a statement is taken to heart regardless of what was said. It happens. Been there...done that. Was someone a little tipsy? Its possible. Was there strain and worry about the upcoming dinner and what was to be discussed? That too is possible. IMO...such remarks can and do strike home. Since an apology was made it should have ended there but didn't for whatever reason. That it escalated beyond that is regrettable. It is my hope that it can be resolved without any further animosity. Despite Brad's admission of 'being who he is' that should have been taken into account. Each person should be accepted for who they are not what they are. Seems to me that some things were taken out of context. We're only human you know.
