Brad Wardell's views about technology, politics, religion, world affairs, and all sorts of politically incorrect topics.

imageMy gift and curse is that I don’t require a “normal” amount of sleep. After 4 or so hours, I wake up, full of energy for the next day.  It’s come in handy when it comes to being productive but it's gotten me into a lot of trouble as well as I can almost always respond more in a “debate” than someone else giving the impression that I’m obsessing on something when in fact I just have…well, more time available to invest in something.

With that introduction, let me introduce you to one of my favorite sites of all time:

Which flame warrior are you?

Not all that difficult.....in the 90's I was a 'lurker' .... but for the past decade or so I'm an 'Admin'...

Interesting, there have been a number of articles tying success to people who don't require much sleep.  Seems like many CEO's / Executives claim not to need much sleep, though I'm only familiar with the anecdotal claims -- not sure if a study has been done on success vs sleep requirements.

Not to deflect your thread from the flame warriors site, just thought it was interesting you don't need much sleep.

Speaking of not much sleep...no matter what time I go to bed I'm still up and wide awake between 3 and 4 a.m. As for successful...the jury's still out on that one. lol

I used to be the bong. Now I'm just loopy.

I need about 5-6 hours, with a once a week 8-9 hour recharge.

I need around 7. less than 6 and I get fuzzy, more than 9 gives me headaches.

I try to play philosopher/diplomat/peacemaker, but I probably end up in Profundus Maximus or Picador territory sometimes.

It's not a voluntary thing (at least not for me).  After about 4 hours, I'm up, like it or not.  It's a double-edged sword as it's probably a major advantage for being an entrepreneur but it's gotten me into endless trouble with Internet flame wars (because I can respond to ALL the threads! <g>).

BTW, this one is me:

"Tireless Rebutter can't understand why he is universally loathed."

It's not 'universal' ...... just seems that way...

I think this adequately describes me here.
