Brad Wardell's views about technology, politics, religion, world affairs, and all sorts of politically incorrect topics.

I am glad that people are actively following politics more these days.  However, I am somewhat concerned with the amount of passion that’s been directed towards it.

I enjoy a good political debate but I never for a second believe that I’m going to be brought in as Emperor of the world to institute my theories.

Discussing topics to try to persuade or educate others on political philosophies that you think are good is a noble thing.  However, hating other people over their political views is not a good thing.

I am pretty sure you have the same behavior in some of the worst conservative blogs too.

I actually signed up on several Conservative and Republican blogs and while they do bash on Democrats and Liberalsd, they don't prevent them from having their own opinions. I'm sure there is one out there that does that, but they are not well known like Democratic Underground is.

Look, you peoples just keep hammering that while the situation in America's politics is bad, it's mostly the Dem's and Liberal's fault. You refuse to consider the bad elements that plague your own side because... well, because you don't see them as bad elements. But they are, and they are just as disruptive and dangerous to the political debate in the USA as the Dem's bad sides.

You people? I find that comment rather insulting. No one here denies the Republicans and Conservatives have flaws. I don't know what else we have to do to point that out besides actually voting for Democrats. You're problem is you are looking at the situation from your point of view and assuming  certain elelments are bad based on your own opinion. I am not too sure what you want but I'm of the belief that one should stand for their beliefs and opinions and not simply give in just because someone thinks you're wrong. However if proved wrong then one should re-evaluate ones opinions.

Things are screwed up in this country because those in power have become power hungry thru out the years and now seem to think they are the answer tro every individuals problem. The biggest mistake in this country was to think the Gov't can fix anything and every effort to take away a person own responsibilities and replace it with a Gov't alternative is basically making every person i this country weaker. The average person no longer want to work hard to earn their lives, they want everything given to them due to this misguided idea of deserving it just because they are Americans.

Like the Dems, you make excuses for them. You claim they are misrepresented by the medias. You say "but the other side is much worse".

I don't make excuses and I don't condone bad behavior. The Media does misrepresent things more often then not because these days it's not about providing the news, it's about profits and the Media is just another corporation looking for a better way to make more money.

Really, Infidel?  Really?

Do you think a white person seen as an ape is as offensive to that person as a black person seen as an ape is to that black person? Maybe the signs of Bush as a chimp was a poke at his disbelief of Evolution.

As offensive? So because Obama is Black he is not fair game? I could care less if Obama is Black, White, Asian or Hispanic. I'm Puerto Rican and I don't think SotoMayor should have been appointed. And I am a Conservative BTW, a poor one by your standards. I love how you made and excuse to make fun of Bush but Obama is off limits.

It's sad when our society has reached a point where it's OK to make a mockery of a sitting President when the TV show Little Bush and the movie W were created. I'm sure no one will make an Obama movie mockery without the entire Black community raising hell.

You know, I am so tired if that whole "because I'm Black" crap Black people keep pushing these days. The guy is President and that's still not enough. I guess we should make White people slaves, take away their rights and drag them from the back of trucks. Maybe that will bring a little satisfaction to the Black community.

If you can't take a bit of criticism from the same politics that have reigned in this country for decades then maybe black people should run for President. If all you have is the same old, tired "because I'm Black" bullshit to defend yourself then I don't know why terrorist bother attacking us, we are doomed regardless. Racism will never be dropped in this country if Black people keep thinking all bad things happen to them because they Black.

Glad to know I might have been missed.

Sure, you know women are terribly under-represented on the political blogs here.

We have never had a Polish president before. So?  We have never had an Asian president before. So? We have a black president now.  So?  What is your obsession with race, and the apparent mentality of trying to protect those that you think cannot protect themselves.  Do you even think before writing or just spew your racism under the guise of "benevolent protection"?

This American (liberal, black supremacist and white supremacist) obsession with skin colour is just weird.

Barack Obama is half-Kenyan. I don't know the exact makeup of tribes in Kenya but I guess most are Bantu (a linguistics term, nothing to do with the South-African concept of Bantu). Bantu are remotely related to tribes in Nigeria, but really not closely. They arrived in Kenya during the Bantu invasions a few hundred years ago (not sure if this applies to Kenya, it applies to South-Africa). The native population were presumably Nilo-Saharan (i.e. like native Sudanese). None of these people have much to do with African-Americans who I believe came from the West-African coast just south of the Sahara (people living north of the Sahara are white and were not slaves in America).

The term "black" to describe a myriad of peoples from totally different backgrounds (Nilo-Saharans are as related to Bantu as Europeans are to Amerindians) is just complete nonsense. Add to that the fact that genetics don't define attributes of nations and there is simply no reason to differentiate between white and black other than for looks and medical reasons.

So he is not the "first black president" because that term is meaningless. He is the first Kenyan president. And that's about as impressive as the first Polish president.

While I disagree with what the original poster wrote, and I don't have any trouble with people depicting Obama as a monkey, you have to question Glenn Beck's declaration that "[Obama] has a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture".

That is doomed to energise reaction out of racists, and create some racist backlash againt Obama.

I agree.  I don't think Obama is smart enough to think along those lines.  But Glenn Beck is entitled to his opinions.

I said right after Obama was elected that the left was using his election as a race issue.  They still are.  now whether Obama is masterminding it, or just not smart enough to stop it is another issue (I think the latter - smart may not be the word - savvy is better).

Infidel is just another liberal poster that wants to make it about race.  That way they can silence the opposition without debating them on the merits of the issue.  You will notice that a lot in America.  The answer is simple enough however.  Each time they trot out a charge of racism, just point to where it was done before.  That may be what Glenn Beck was referring to.  Not that Obama hated whites (but I do not pretend to understand Beck - I just like his Moron Trivia), but that he is using the racists for his own gain.

As for the energizing, each time some doofuss like Frank, Reid, Pelosi, Gibbs, Axelrod, Rich or other starts calling the opposition racist for opposing Obama, that does more than Beck ever will.  Racists do not mind being called that.  People that are just asking questions resent the hell out of it.  They do not shut up, they just get madder.  It is not Beck that Obama has to worry about.  It is his own clique.

The term is what I consider to be the most descriptive in use in America (where other terms are verbotten).  I refuse to use the term "African-American" (Although Obama would qualify more than 99% of black Americans could) as it is used to include all black people, even those from Britain, the Caribean, Australia, or what have you.  it is a stupid term (Teresa Heinz is an African-American too). Plus I hate hyphens.

But America is obsessed with race.  Hell, just look at the census!  So I conceed if they want to call themselves black americans that is their fun.  Personally it means a hell of a lot more to me when he is labeled/called a liberal/socialist.  His skin color does not affect me, but his ideology (given his position) sure as hell does.

Hell, just look at the census!

LOL, it did seem a bit ate up with people of Hispanic decent, like other races seem less important.

In the eye of the beholder.

"Kenyan" is a nationality, though, not an ethnicity. Calling him the first Kenyan president implies that he's not an American.

"Kenyan" is a citizenship. I don't know if it's also a nationality.

Either way, I explained in detail what "Kenyan" actually means in a tribal sense. I used "Kenyan" here not as deescription of citizenship (what you call "nationality" but as a description for any member of any tribe that lives in Kenya, be they Bantu, Cushitic, or Nilotic.

You are right.  Others may think there are more racists statements than yours.  But the only ones that would not see that as racist are racists.

From the poster's ignorance no doubt.

The rational method of judging a person is evidence + evidence + evidence -> conclusion.

George W. Bush was always judged the other way around: conclusion -> evidence + evidence + evidence.

If I see a racist, homophobic, Creationist politician, I wouldn't vote for him.

Liberals decide for whom not to vote and then believe he must be racist, homophobic and Creationist.

That would explain why they so often enthusiastically support people who actually are racist, homophobic and Creationist.
