I’m getting so smoked on BF3 it’s sad.  I used to be good at this. I used to be a player, man!  What the hell happened? Winking smile

Something I've noticed is that shooters tend to be primarily a teenager thing. Why that is I couldn't really say.

Maturity.  Slower eye-hand coordination and reflexes, but a more nuanced understanding of the world.  Welcome, Draginol, to my world.  You know what we find fun?  Turn based strategy games.

Yeah - no kidding.  Used to be amazing at street fighter 2 in the arcade... not so much now.

Well, i have wrote the following in a other topic :

"I wish that sins survive until my retirement time... once retired, i will certainly have Parkinson disease, and a shaking hand will make me perfect for click-feast games... glaucoma will automatic focus my view on target for FPS shooter game... on the other hand, memory loss will be bad for strategic game like sins..."

So, there is hope for Draginol... with luck, when he will be old enough, he will become good again... If he don't wish to wait, there is some workaround for mid-life guy :

- eat enough heavy metal until you are in a poisoning stage... with mercury, it lead to hand tremor at a max of 5hz in case of damage to your cerebellum... 5hz can seem low but it can mean 5 click by second... heavy metal poisoning can lead to narrowing your field of vision, meaning that you can focus on the target without being distracted by the surrounding....

- become a drugs addict... and stop use drugs a few days before play... Withdrawal from drugs will generate hand tremor and enhance your click rate... Aggressivity will increase, perfect for a berseker mode ( serious sam V with knife or chainsaw, Shogun 2 with the blood DLC, etc... )...

- marry a wife who always disagree with you, who seek any opportunity for start a fight, who use all your money for trivial thing, etc... Stress will increase your adrenaline level and your aggressivity... the drugs work around is better because it is more easy ( and cheaper ) to withdraw from drugs that divorce once you wish to end playing... Beware that marriage/divorce can have by-product ( kids ) who can cost a lot of money during all the rest of your life...

Well, it is all for now but i am pretty sure that there is plenty of other ways for a mid-life guy for improvement his gaming performance... by example, electric chair connected to computer who discharge everytime that you are hit ingame ( will not work with guy practicing  BDSM ), with time it will improve your reflex and you will evade enemy hit...

Classic axiom in gaming:  if you're getting smoked, lower the difficulty.  Then you master that, then you gradually get better and defeat the beasts who pwned you before.   I don't always know how you do that in online gaming, but you have to find a way.

Well, for playing an "easier" online format, you can try playing in the most common hours for busy gamers. People who work 9-5 jobs, go to school, and (sadly) the children who populate most online games, are more likely to play on the weekends or peak hours of the day. Those are generally the less skilled players, and easier to dominate. Players like me who are used to being up all night writing grad papers, and who play in the intermediate hours of the day and night are more likely to know the tricks and will happily send you to the respawn screen.

Or, grasshopper, you can admit that your mind has grown better, and this is wise.   But,, alas, your hand-eye-coordination and reflex times have not.  Be brave, be very brave, the has come to embrace TBS games.   j/k

Old people should stick to playing with their dentures and diapers.  You're old Brad, you're Old!  Arthritic hands and Demented minds will never master video games.  Why am I wasting the time to tell you this, won't remember in five minutes anyway...also, your oatmeal is getting cold...

That said, the guy who won MVC3 at Evo last year is almost 40.

That said, twitch games you start declining at around 27 years of age I believe.  More cerebral games, which can include some fighters- you can last until about 40 I think.  (stuff like Soul Calibur and Virtua Fighter)
