As I get ready to simmer down for the evening for a hectic day tomorrow, it appears Obama has it in the bag. They've just called Ohio for Obama which means it's over.  Congratulations to Obama on his historic victory.  It will be interesting to see how things progress from here.

I feel some people aren’t ready of a black president and ant-black groups will go after him. I personally don’t mind a black president; I wouldn’t have minded a woman, Mexican, Asian, or even a Native American. That what I like about 2008 almost anyone can run for president as long as they were born in the U.S. or to U.S. born parents and the right age. I just have one concern if Obam does what he says about ending the war in the Middle East, I hope the Terries stay over there. Because that all we need another September 11, or worse because all they want is to kill anyone how doesn’t believe the way they do. Now I hope Obam realize that and dose what is need, I also hop he doesn’t get killed, I have family how live in the south and right now I just know how upset this make them they don’t like blacks at all so Obam being president is probably going over like a fart in church with them. Now as I said before I don’t care how is president as long as they do what is right for the county and not cause Clive unrest where it is everyone for them self’s. That is the last thing we would need however Obam being president it may not be so bad will just have to see what he does after he is sworn in next year.

so taking all their money out is going to help our country?

help our country by giving our money to the government?  So if you have money you've tucked away for retirement or whatever, and you know the goverment, i.e. Obama wants half of it, to give to your neighbor, you're ok with that?

I haven't seen him help our country one bit. What has he done?  He just spent millions and millions buying an election.  That's it!  He should have won it.  He bought it.  He certainly hasn't earned it.  But that's his mode of operation I guess.

Just think how much he could have helped our country.  Heck, he could have just given a small amount...say $10,000 to his brother's village in Kenya and done a world of good.  A good leader always leads by example.  I'm not liking his example so far.  When he cuts the military that ought to go over quite well with those waiting on the outside.

Our country is on the way down.  We're no longer the big gun we once were.  I hate to say it, but it's true.   We need to wake up and smell the coffee.

disappointment is a given, but dang people, is this not the land that we love? I guess not anymore!

This nation is not what it was created to be.  It's not the same anymore.

Winston Churchill was very damning in his critique of socialism.  In 1945 he said:

"Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and worship of the state.  It will prescribe for every one where they are to work, what they are to work at, where they may go and what they may say....No socialist system can be established without a political police."

I drove an elderly woman to a new eye doctor yesterday.  I asked her why she was changing doctors.  She had no choice because her insurance plan wouldn't allow her to go to her regular doctor.  He wasn't on their list.

Is that what you want?  Because that's where we're heading in all areas of life.

Huxley wasn't too far off in his "Brave New World" afterall.

The worst thing will be the celebrations of the believers, now that the Messiah is president.

Just a month ago I read in a Kurdish news paper that Kurds are afraid that if Obama wins he might withdraw the troops as he said he would and civil war would break out in Iraq, making the country fall back into the pre-2003 situation. (If you think Iraq was bad since 2003, just consider what it looked like before the media reported on the situation daily!)

I also fear that if the Arabs believe that American support for Israel is weakening, they will attack again and try to kill all the Jews like in the old days. I am not kidding. I have seen Arab television and their threats what they will do to Israelis if given the chance. What if the believe that they have that chance now?

And I wonder what all the terrorist groups will do now that their candidate has won.

KFC, I believed you to be Christian, right? Isn't this something we see the early church doing in Acts 2-4? I don't like socialism or anything, but isn't being a Christian mean that you love your neighbor as yourself. Not love the neighbor with bootstraps as yourself.

I think Obama has been clear that he is not a socialist. His acceptance speech made that clear. KFC, you say you have not seen Obama do one thing for this country. I saw him and others do a great deal to fight the rights of poor people on the Southside of Chicago. They ARE a part of this country.

That's a loaded statement of pure crap. Arabs have made threats against Israels people and sovereignty regardless of an American president.

And what do you mean 'their' candidate. Don't tell me you one of those people who is still holding on to some baseless thought that Obama is a secret terrorist?

Read it again. You might figure out that I was talking about the difference between threatening and acting.

When I say that John McCain was my candidate, do you read that to mean that he is a secret system engineer?

Look at is proposed policies, not his speeches.

Didn't he convince banks to give mortgages to poor people?

I am saddened.

It's great and amazing that a black man can be president after so much stuggle.   But why did it have to be this one.

Having said that . . .the republican candidtate was a a failure and I voted for thelibritarian available to me in Texas.  I can only hope that my vote sends some kind of message.

The republicans don't need to change their message; they need to clarify it for the American people.  I suspect that the Obama presidency will provide quite the contrast.

Giving your money (which I support and do) is differnet from having it stolen from you and given to another who didn't work for it.

Have you ever heard of an INCOME TAX?

America has spoken in a landslide victory, give us change (btw- America didn't want the bailout (heavy socialism) but both republicans and democrats voted for it, theres more than one person to blame)

Israel doesn't have many options right now if it wants to survive. Iran is on the fast track to the a bomb which they have vowed to wipe Israel 'off the map' with. The Israelis probably have no choice but to attack Iran before George Bush leaves office. Obama wouldn't send any cavalry if the Iranians got the upper hand and the Jews who live in Israel know it. The Democrats and their media accomplices would explain the fall of Tel Aviv away with something like Obama suffered from 'paralysis of analysis.'

Well said..

Have you ever heard of an INCOME TAX?

Income tax actually was started to pay for the Civil War. It was also supposed to only be temporary. In 1913, the 16th Amendment to the Constitution made the income tax a permanent fixture in the U.S. tax system. It was intended for running the goverment.  Not to support able bodied citizens who refuse to work for a living.

But now I should be forced to give half my wages to my brother inlaw who is able to work but instead chooses to live off his parents and do drugs? He actually had the oppertunity to make more $ an hour than I and make a dam good living, but chose to sit at home screwing off makin babies with his never employed GF. But now im expected to have to go to work 10+ hrs a day to feed my family of 7 then split my earnings with him? how is that fair?

If this falls in to place.. watch the size of the Poor class increase 100 fold as every one wants to sit at home and get free $$.

Sure. Where was money stolen? Or do you believe that taxes are a form a theft. Is that what you mean?

on Nov 05, 2008

Or do you believe that taxes are a form a theft.

Many believe that taxes are supposed to pay for government services we all use and which cannot or many not be provided by private enterprise.

Any other use of taxation is regarded as legalised theft.

Ummm.....52% is not a landslide.  He did well in the EC, but far from a popular vote landslide.
