Brad Wardell's views about technology, politics, religion, world affairs, and all sorts of politically incorrect topics.

Wow. I mean, wow!

San Diego county is demanding that people stop inviting friends over to their home for a bible study on the grounds that they do not have a permit.

This is why, I don’t care where you stand on most political issues, I fear government power.

A lot of people view politics as either liberal or conservative.

I view it as the tug of war between those who push for anarchy and those who push for tyranny.  We live in the relatively comfortable area in-between.  However, in the past 50 years, we have seen a pretty steady march towards tyranny brought on by both political parties.

The Republicans invite tyranny in the name of “Security” and the Democrats invite tyranny in the name of “Fairness”.  But no matter how you spin it, tyranny means a loss of liberty for the individual.

I’m not religious but it’s none of my business what my neighbors do in the privacy of their own home as long as they are not infringing on the rights of others.

The ACLU Constantly files on behalf of people attempting to exercise their religion wherever they want to.  Conservatives just don't like people having civil liberties.  Considering the source of the article, "Fox News" and the target of the article "Sand Diego" I would bet there's more to the story than is presented there and it turns out San Diego is being much more reasonable than it seems.

By the way, it's not often I see that I agree with Brad politically.  I agree with his good business sense about DRM and now that both sides want to control our lives in different ways...

Although he forgot that conservatives don't just oppress in the name of "Security" but they want o force a particular branch of christian values on the entire population as well.

Pretty rich considering that the liberals in charge right now are the faschists.

Interesting, I am highly conservative, and I am an atheist with a jewish background. I don't find my fellow republicans want to "force" christianity on me. I do find the democrats want to force socialism on me.

Are you kidding me?  You must be very young and don't know any better.

I can alsmost say the same with just a bit of tweaking.  I am highly conservative, a Christian with Jewish background.  And I agree with the rest.

There's a difference between republican's and conservatives, and it's funny because I don't see anyone forcing anything on anyone. Then again, I guess I am just one of those people that believes in free will and all. Silly me.

We're about to be forced to buy health insurance, whether we want it or not.

What does free will have to do with the government making rules, and promising to send uniformed men weilding guns if you disobey?

i still wanna know more about them 15 person poker games.

You are such a card.

Does that mean Kingbee is going to play with himself?

You truly think that we're gonna have uniformed men at our door if we don't buy health insurance? If you're serious, then you're being pwnd. Free will has a lot to do with it because it dictates what we do to a large extent. If there was no free will, then people would all behave a certain, proper, way. Everyone has free will, hence the power to obey or disobey...and if someone really believed that universal healthcare or some other gov't deal was wrong...then, assuming they were people of their word and all...they would disobey it.

Free will has a lot to do with it because it dictates what we do to a large extent.

The only one doing the dictating lately is the government.  Haven't you noticed?  Many of our rights are being taken away.  Last I knew I have no freewill when it comes to putting my seatbelt on.   It's either "click it or ticket."

The latest proposal now on the books is that if you don't have health insurance you will be taxed another 2% on your tax return.  How about that for freewill?   Health insurance is going to be mandatory?

If people can't afford health insurance do you think it wise to tax them more?

Since when did health insurance become a right?  I can't find that in the constitution anywhere.

We are getting way away from the constitution and free rights every day and more so with Obama at the helm.  The only free right I can see him allowing right now is the right to kill the unborn.  Everything else is at stake.

I don't know about the magical world you live in, but in the USA if you don't pay your taxes than the police (eventually) arrests you.

Since when did health insurance become a right?  I can't find that in the constitution anywhere.

A right that you PAY for and let the government decide how to disburse.

Oh, the humanity!

Stalinists! Everywhere! I just opened my fridge and there they were: 200 of them, hidden under the butter.

With their riot gear on to subjigate you to a life without butter. Oh the cruelty of healthy eating! How dare they!

KFC...I order you to stand up, walk outside, and then shout outloud "I don't believe in God." Then, walk back inside. Why?

Don't want to do it? Don't believe in such things? Thinking, "No, I don't have to do that!"

Voila, free will; it's just like magic!

You can castigate others for what they are "apparently" forcing on you all you want. (I know, peer pressure and all...it's just so hard to say no...) However, ultimately, everything falls on you...because you still have your free will to obey and disobey, as well as the responsibility for the consequences for doing such.

I rest my case.

(You = rhetorical)

You turned an innocent question into something dirty, you pervert.

Who said I was implying something dirty? I didn't; you're the one that is assuming such. I never said it. For all you know, I could be lamenting the unfortunate circumstances of playing cards by ones self.

In our society/system...you HAVE to pay taxes right?Well, Geithner and others didn't. Hence - free will.
